Subscribing to a blog… One thing matters

Topics. Design. Style. Content. Personality.

Those are reasons people might subscribe to your blog…

But that’s not it. There’s a lot more to it. You’ve got to invest time in building relationships with all of the other struggling bloggers. Reading. Commenting. Emailing. As my friend Mike Sansone puts it, “IT ain’t nothing without the C… Communcation.

Let’s forget that for a moment… Hypotheical situation: You come across a blog you’ve never read before… what is the deciding factor that makes you subscribe to it or not?

…got it?

Ya see, there are a lot of great writers out there. Some people that are really, really good at writing. The problem is, sometimes they do a lot of writing… but they don’t say much. There’ll be a really long, funny story… but in the end, no real point is made.

It was fun to read… but I didn’t learn anything.

Blogging is all about content. Style has, and always will come second to content.

Because if I’m not learning anything, there is no reason for me to be reading your blog.

So the question is… Where are you getting your content from?
